Camera angles in short films.

Camera angles are used to convey different types of emotions and structure of events.They also show different angles of the scene in order to create a more aesthetically pleasing for the audience.

Close up

A close up is a shot that is very close to the aspect/ object that it is focusing on.This is usually an aspect of the body , the face, if they are filming a character or maybe a car in the street is they are filming outside

Extreme close up

An extreme close up is a similar shot to the close up but it is focused even further o an aspect. for example if filming a character it would focus on the face but maybe the eyes or mouth.

Medium shot

A medium shot usually consists of being able to see the majority of a scene or if they are filming a character in a shot you can usually see half of their body

Long shot

A long shot is a shot that captures the majority of the scene includding the setting around them, they normal contain a full body if filming a character and the surroundings

Extreme long shot

Similar to a long shot, an extreme long shot just show a much larger frame of the surroundings or the scene.

The Ellington Kid

In 'The Ellington Kid" Sully uses a range of eye-level camera angles to covey a personal sense to the story, these camera angle also foreground the first person perspective to the narrative and continues to allude the realism of the film. Sully, also use the over the shoulder angles to highlight the audience experience as actually becoming a part of the film. The use of low angle shots is also prominent to show the overarching power a character has.

The Fly

In 'The Fly' Williams also uses eye level camera angles to show the frustration of the main character, the panic and the stress. This camera angle also allows the audience to see the whole scene and the full body movement of the characters. Williams also uses a high angle shot to present to entirety of the scene again this also shows the quietness of the surroundings that further contradicts with the noise and frustration of the character.
